Stereo Soundboard Recording.
This is the complete live recording from Oasis’s iTunes Festival performance on July 21, 2009!
Many fans will already know this concert because a digest version was included on the third disc of the official best-of album TIME FLIES… 1994–2009.
However, what is included here is not that — it’s a completely upgraded, full version.
When Oasis performed at the 2009 iTunes Festival, the entire show was broadcast on XFM (now Radio X), leaving behind a high-quality stereo soundboard recording.
Of course, no one at the time could have imagined that just one month later, Noel would quit and Oasis would break up.
After the breakup, TIME FLIES included part of that concert — not the full set — remastered officially in digest form.
Back then, the iTunes Store was at its peak.
As many fans know, outside Japan (in the West), the full concert was actually sold as a download-only release — although it was compressed and lossy.
That version has long since been pulled from digital stores and is now unobtainable.
But there’s another twist: for some reason, only in the Netherlands, the entire show was released in lossless, uncompressed quality!
It wasn’t the XFM radio broadcast, but the officially mastered mix — the best possible version of this live recording.
That too disappeared from distribution years ago, but thanks to an overseas collector, the Dutch-exclusive lossless version has now been recovered and will be released in ultra-high quality.
It’s a perfect mix that fully deserves a pressed CD edition.
As for the performance itself — it’s quite a legendary one.
During the opening song Rock ’n’ Roll Star, a fan threw beer that splashed all over Liam.
Soaked and furious, he lost his temper — and given how tense relations already were between Liam and Noel, the incident made the show infamously chaotic.
You can clearly hear his anger throughout the performance.
In songs like My Big Mouth, he even abandons the vocals mid-song, leaving the band to play on instrumentally.
Normally, Liam would leave the stage when Noel sang lead, but here he stayed on stage sulking, sitting by the drum riser watching as Noel performed Half the World Away.
Yet it wasn’t all bad.
On songs like Slide Away and Champagne Supernova, Liam channeled that anger into raw, emotional singing — delivering one of his most intense performances as a frontman.
In some ways, it shows more pride and passion than other late-era shows right before the breakup.
Just one month later, Oasis would dissolve — so this concert serves as the perfect counterpoint to their 2025 reunion tour recordings.
History that once broke apart has begun to connect again, its wheel turning once more.
As an archive of Oasis’s musical history, this rare lossless recording is priceless.
