Tape story:
I have located myself in a central position about 35-40 m from the stage and 5-10 m in front of the mixing desk with the mic mounted on hat
I think it was a good choice because the sorrounding crowd was totally into the show and only occasionally you will hear people chatting
Of course, you can hear people clapping, occasionally screaming and often singing...
The quality of the sound is good and I am proud of this recording, even if a big mistake (my fault) occurred at the beginning of the gig
40 secs into the intro, when I was putting the mic cable in the usual position behind the left ear, holding the recorder with the other hand, I have erroneously pressed the "minus" recording volume button down to "0"
Unfortunately this happened when I haven't still secured the recorder's buttons since I had to set the right level volume (usually I do it during the first song after the intro)
When I have seen that the recording was running but the volume leds didn't move I have thought something wrong happened to the mic
But plugging/unplugging it didn't give a positive result...
It needs one and half minute to understand the (very stupid) actual reason: the result is that the last part of the intro and the first part of Rock'N'Roll Star are missing (I have missed about 1:35 mins)
What about the show?
It was my third Oasis concert in 14 years (Milan 1995 and the infamous Imola 2005 show were the others)
Very good performance, with Liam in a good form
Personal highlights: The Shock Of The Lightning, To Be Where There's Life, The Masterplan, Slide Away, The Importance Of Being Idle, I'm Outta Time, I Am The Walrus
Technical notes:
- The total running time of the recording was 1:42:32; I have cut the erroneously muted 95 secs at the beginning (see above for explanation) and the last useless seconds reducing the master to 1:40:50
- I have amplified the whole recording (+5.0 dB) and faded-out the last 2-3 secs
- If you burn to audio CD, you will need 2 CDs (CD1: 1-18; CD2: 19-22)
