setlistaudio sourcescommentsFirst show as "Oasis"."Despite what other sources say this is the earliest known listing of an Oasis gig. Amusingly the clip shown in the below image (the 14th of August gig) is widely shown online but the above one is literally on the same page in the Manchester Evening News. Pretty major oversight by someone. Interestingly this gig also implies an earlier date for 'Take Me' demo (which is listed as Autumn 91 on another tape) which is presumably what Penny is referring to. You have to send in a demo tape to be featured in the Gig Guide so it must've been listened to by Penny sometime between the 2nd and 9th of August. The demo could've well been recorded with the intended purpose of them being able to feature in the newspaper."

fan uploadsComment: 1991/08/09 - Manchester Evening News - The Word - Gig Guide (By Penny Anderson) Comment: If you go and look at the Manchester Evening News for that week though you'll see Oasis listed as playing at The Boardwalk on not only the 14th of August but on the 9th too! Penny Anderson (the writer of the gig guide) notes: "Look out for [Oasis], one of the best harder sounding demos I've heard in ages". This in itself is interesting as the bands first demo tape ('Alice', 'Take Me', 'Reminisce') is noted as being recorded in autumn and not summer. Add Your ReviewWas There Then?
